A catch-all e-mailbox is one that captures all the emails sent to inactive addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an outdated email address or has made a spelling mistake. The disadvantage of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of spam messages, but this problem can be rectified using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also essential to remember that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound email messages to a third-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting
You will be able to configure a catch-all mailbox without any difficulty in case you have a web hosting plan with us. The Email Manager tool in our in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel is feature-laden, yet really easy to work with, and it will allow you to enable various features, including the catch-all one, with no more than several mouse clicks. All the mailboxes that you’ve set up will be listed alphabetically in this section and on the right-hand side of each of them you’ll find a small "Catch-all" button. Clicking it once will activate the feature, clicking on it once again will deactivate it. As you can have only one such mailbox per domain name, our system will warn you if you’ve already got another mailbox with this feature enabled or if you’ve got activated email forwarding.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The custom-built Hepsia Control Panel that is included with each semi-dedicated server plan that we offer will allow you to configure a catch-all email mailbox without any difficulties even in case you do not have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to achieve that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each mailbox that you have set up with your domains in the Control Panel’s Email Manager section. As you can have just one mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will warn you if you have already configured a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you’d like to use has email forwarding activated. In case you decide that you don’t want the feature anymore, you can deactivate it by clicking once again on the same icon. The Email Manager will also allow you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
